On page 172 of Brigitte Mars' book "Rawsome" is a wonderful recipe. It is one of 26 markers that I have on recipes in the book. When I read the recipe, I realized that I had all the ingredients already in my kitchen. So I got up from my reading chair and made it. In less than 5 minutes, I was eating one of the most delicious soups I have ever eaten. And since then, I have made nearly every day without ever looking back at the recipe. It has never tasted the same twice, because I add some different ingredients while keeping all the main ingredients.
Brigitte attributes the soup to Ann Wigmore with this wonderful statement "Bless Ann Wigmore for this ultimate healing soup." I have since seen Cherie Soria prepare essentially the same soup, also acknowledging Ann Wigmore whom she studied with.
Energy Soup: 1 serving
1 apple or a piece of watermelon with rind
1 cup Rejuvelac*
1/2 avocado, pitted and peeled
A large handful of sprouts and greens
1 teaspoon shredded dulse or kelp
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and pulse until the soup is thoroughly chopped and mixed but still chunky in texture.
*Rejuvelac, which is also an Ann Wigmore creation, is described on page 151 of "Rawsome." I have researched Rejuvelac extensively and have tried many approaches.
Make it a Soupy Day!
