Dear David: We talked a little bit about enzymes earlier and bothering a person’s stomach. I actually have quite a bit of problems with taking enzymes, cacao, goji berry, some of the best stuff that I could be taking, my stomach can’t handle. Right now, oh I’m up to about a leaf of aloe vera a day and then I’m also taking marshmallow root, slippery elm, that sort of thing, to try to heal the lining in my stomach. Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Dave: That’s a really good approach, everything you just said in terms of healing your stomach. Celery juice is really good. Have you been exploring any of the juices?

BDE Member: Yes I have. I don’t stay as consistent. I mean I’m real big into wheatgrass, I’m a bout six ounces a day of that.

DW: That’s awesome.

BDE Member: But the celery, I have a hard time, I live up in Washington state and getting good celery in the wintertime is, it’s just not the best ever.

DW: it’s not the best ever. Celery is a great tonic in general but in particular for the stomach. You know one of the great things ever for the stomach is noni. It’s the same active principle as what you have in aloe vera and I’m talking about fresh noni, so if you ever get to Hawaii or you come on a retreat or something, that’s something you can tap into and noni is like a universal healer in that regard. Make sure that you’re drinking nicely balanced water as well on an empty stomach and make sure there’s a lot of hydration. A lot of causes actually of digestive pain or even stomach pain is chronic dehydration.

BDE Member: Okay.

DW: And that’s just a little, if you feel like, I know that if I start to sneeze, I know that’s dehydration. I have a little signal that my body gives me and that’s good to be tuned in on what your signals are. My friend Dancing Butterfly, she gets itchiness in her nose if she becomes too acidic. You might want to tune in; hey, if you’re having stomach pain, instead of like taking an aloe vera drink or something, just drink water and see what happens and a lot of times I feel that those things are caused by dehydration, initially. I mean that was the original cause and then it becomes more of a chronic problem.

BDE Member: Yeah, I’m kind of at the chronic level at this point, I’m not even able to take up any vitamin B12. I’ve graduated to shots at this point.

DW: Wow. Okay you’re on the right track. Aloe vera is so great to be taking it everyday. It’s, that’s just an incredible food and if you can get a whole leaf in your body everyday, you’re in good shape.

BDE Member: Okay, well thank you.

DW: Yes you’re welcome, thank you.
