oh how i wish there was a spring within 2 hours like you just said but according to findaspring dot com, the closest spring to me is a little over 4 hours away. to be fair though, the section of south texas i live in use to have springs but thanks to the cattle ranching done in the area, one book (springs of texas via google books preview) i read said it would take over 40k years of natural rainfall without human habitation before the underground aquifers would recover to the point where the springs would empty at the surface of the ground instead of into the watertable.
